Webelos Woods is an outdoor program activity designed to aid in the Webelos to Scout transition; to help Webelos  form a desire to know more about Boy by giving the younger Scouts a preview of the thrills of Scouting, and to give them an opportunity to take a step up from Cub Scouting by camping at a Boy Scout camp.

The weekend is designed as a Patrol activity, much like a Boy Scout Camporee. The Webelos will be participating in classes taught by Boy Scouts.  Each patrol will be led throughout the day by a Boy Scout, acting as their patrol leader.

There has been a lot of interest in this event, so much so it has even been moved up a bit.  This is an educational immersion for the Webelos Scouts, filled with fun and learning along the way, as an introduction to the basic concepts and workings of Boy Scouts, Patrols, Troops and their activities.

Although the structure is different from Cub-parent weekend campouts, BSA camp safety regulations still require an adult to accompany each Webelos Scout.

We will also have a campfire program in the evening with lots of Scout Spirit, skits, and good humor.

This event will be held Oct. 6th, 7th, and 8th, coinciding with the Cub Family Camp and Olympics, and the Crater Boy Scout Camp out, with assistance from the OA and our local Troops.  (Tigers, Wolves and Bears will be participating in the Cub Olympics, while the Webelos will be participating with the Boy Scouts)

This camp is designed with these aims in mind:

Help Webelos Scouts understand Boy Scout values, procedures, methods and skills.

*  Encourage the transition of Webelos Scouts by showing them the fun Boy Scouts have.

*  Encourage young men to learn from and teach each other using the "boy led" philosophy.

*  Encourage friendships among various Packs / Troops.

*  Learn new skills!

This is an excellent opportunity for Packs to visit multiple Troops in a camping setting; and for Troops to welcome potential transitioning Scouts and to share information about your Unit and the Boy Scouts.
