Friends of Scouting Family Campaign
The Crater District friends of Scouting team is currently conducting
Unit Presentations during your pack’s Blue and Gold Banquet, or your troop’s
next Court of Honor. If you have not given the District Team your FOS Unit
Captain, date, time and location, please do so as soon as possible. Without FOS,
scouting in central Virginia would not exist. We anticipate an outstanding year,
and thanks to the FOS team for all of their hard work and support.
Nominations for District Awards
Nominations for the Heart of the Unit Award, District Leadership Award, and
District Award of Merit are due no later than March 31, 2010 to Lowell
Flickinger.
ROUNDTABLES
Roundtables are a form of commissioner service and supplemental training for
volunteers at the unit level. It serves as a source of information on events
and training and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fellowship with
other unit leaders. Roundtables provide unit leaders with skills, techniques,
and program ideas to enhance the quality of their meetings. Please make an
effort to participate in these informative sessions, which are designed to
assist unit level leadership in program development.
